Anxiety in Older Adults and How it’s Different

When most people think of anxiety and the people it affects, their minds move towards younger adults, millennials, and Gen Z. And while the prevalence of anxiety in these demographics is worth being mindful of, we also must acknowledge the anxiety that impacts older adults, and our senior populations.

Breaking down the stigma of talking about anxiety is important, and educating ourselves about how anxiety might change as we age is a great step as well. More than 1 in 10 adults over the age of 65 are impacted by some type of anxiety disorder, and it is sadly becoming more and more common.
