Not the first time we’ve talked about magnesium, and it won’t be the last. But today we’ll view magnesium in comparison to melatonin, and decide which one might be right for you.
Magnesium can help improve sleep patterns – we’ve even said so in the past, but perhaps a bit more context is necessary. Magnesium helps the body relax, and can assist in sleep in the sense that it enables people to reduce stress and sleep for longer periods of time. Melatonin, on the other hand, is a hormone that allows us to fall asleep faster. It is also something our bodies can produce naturally, while magnesium we need to ingest through food, supplementation, or medicine.
Both melatonin and magnesium can play an important role in sleep patterns, and it could be appropriate to supplement with one, both, or neither, depending on your specific needs.
